The last pattern saber to be issued to American cavalrymen, designed by Lt. (later general) George S. Patton Jr. Characteristic black rubber grips, large, pressed steel guard and straight, double-edged blade with central fuller struck US with NO 13 on one side and LF & Co with a bursting bomb between and 1918. In its canvas-covered field scabbard with steel mounts. Dated 1918. Worn. Overall length 110.5cm. Condition III
