The hardwood grip carved in a writhen pattern, terminating in a pommel transitional between karabela and spherical types, with silver studs. The long, finely-wrought heirloom Ottoman blade with pronounced yelman displaying evidence of damascus forging. In its leather-covered wooden scabbard with steel mounts. Showing the combination of Ottoman and European characteristics often found in Greek arms. late 18th-early 19th century. Worn, blade with areas of pitting, chape rubbed. Overall length 92cm.
