Description
An iconic form, finely carved entirely of wood with pronounced bifurcate pommel and raised, rounded cantle. Elegantly covered in polished hide polychromed overall in characteristic dramatic vegetal and geometrical motifs, with borders finely inlaid with polished antler bands decorated in geometrical motifs throughout. 18th-early 19th century. Very light wear, minor loss to antler band at pommel. Overall length 46.7cm. Condition II
