The last pattern saber to be issued to American cavalrymen, designed by Lt. (later general) George S. Patton Jr. Characteristic black rubber grips, large, pressed steel guard and straight, double-edged blade with central fuller struck SA1914 with a bursting bomb between and 1914. In its nickeled steel officer’s scabbard. Dated 1914. Worn, nickel peeling. Overall length 110cm. Condition III
