Description
Rarely encountered, with horn grips set with numerous silver studs and bosses, with silver engraved and filigreed pommel set with corals, and engraved silver tangbands, with steel guard. The long, heirloom Persian blade of moderate curvature, and wrought of fine Persian black wootz. In its silk velvet-covered wooden scabbard with leather mounts. Early 19th century, blade earlier. Overall length 92.3 cm / 36 1/3". Leather and velvet rubbed, blade with minor areas of pitting. Condition III
