Description
With characteristic diminutive, angular brass guard with swollen quillon finials and profiled langets. The blade of robust flattened-triangular section with defined yelman back edge and distinctly offset tang. 16th- 17th century. Excavated condition. Such sabers were endemic to the Crimean Tatars, yet the form was popular among Russians and Poles as well. Overall length 87.2 cm / 34 1/3". Condition V
