Description
Qing Dynasty or earlier, a massive sword of ring-pommel type, with intricately woven gripwrap intact. The broad blade showing active handforging, expanding continuously to the cusped tip, measuring 7mm thick at the base of the spine. The round brass guard quite thick, slightly loose, with profiled and stamped border. 19th century or earlier. Minor wear, areas of rust to blade. Overall length 140 cm / 55 1/8". Condition II
