Likely Tausug People, the well-wrought and quite robust blade showing actively-patterned forging, the exotic hardwood grip of characteristic form with intact crest and silver ferrule. In its carved and pierced wooden scabbard. Second half of the 19th century. Very minor chip to pommel, losses and old adhesive to scabbard. Overall length 55.4 cm / 21 3/4". Condition III
