Description
Edo era, comprising a steel kabuto helmet with ribbed bowl and applied pierced white metal plaques with vajra and antler maidate and four-plate shikoro in black lacquer and a black-lacquered steel menpo. The do is steel, lacquered black with a fine phoenix amongst foliage in gold lacquer. The sode, haidate and suneate composed of mail and plates and lacquered black, the kusazuri likewise of black lacquered steel. C. 1700. Losses to lacquer. Height of do 79.7cm. Condition III STAND NOT INCLUDED
