Description
The horn grip with iron mounts. The double-edged blade finely fullered and struck with a maker’s mark at the forte. In its leather-covered wooden scabbard with horn mounts. Horn was a popular material for shashka and kinjal mounts during raids, as it neither reflected sun or moonlight, nor did it ring while riding as iron did. Latter 19th century. Minor wear. Overall length 49cm. Condition III
