Description
The sallet helmet of characteristic form with central ridge and pivoting visor pierced for ventilation, with rolled borders. Breastplate with central ridge, rolled borders at the neck and arm gussets and flanged at the waist, the backplate likewise rolled at neck and arm gussets. With complete arm defenses, the pauldrons with four upper plates with rolled rims, the couters with rolled edges, the vambraces rolled at the cuff. The gauntlets articulated, with pointed cuffs, all fingers intact. Each tasset composed of four lames. The cuisses wrought of a single plate with central ridge, the poleyns with rounded profile and expanded wings. The two-piece greaves well-modelled, with central ridge. The multi-lamed steel sabatons en suite. Holding a massive broadsword with flanged pommel and wire-wrapped grip. Second quarter of the 20th century. Brown overall, areas of rust, some straps repaired. Wooden stand with round base included if desired, shipping additional. Overall height on stand 194cm. Condition III
