Description
The grips of figured pale green jade, with integral steel tangband and bolster heavily inlaid with gold. The straight, broad, single-edged blade with a large panel of gold inlay at either forte en suite with the bolster and forged of finely-patterned black Persian wootz retaining original polish. In its velvet-covered wooden scabbard with elaborately profiled and pierced silver mounts, the locket retaining its pierced toggle. Mid-18th century. Overall length 37cm. Condition II
