Description
In Gothic style, the fine steel mounts with elaborate geometrical profiling, the quillons terminating in large knobs. The reeded wooden grip with swollen center deeply patinaed, and retaining its turkshead knots. The straight, robust blade quite broad at the forte and tapering continuously to an acute point, with raised central ridges pierced with pairs of opposed chevrons, transitioning to a central ridge which runs all the way to the tip. Latter 15th century. Blade pitted overall, grip wrap lacking. Overall length 40.7cm. Condition IV
