Description
An earlier and finer than average example, the antler grip intricately carved with aso motifs and grip wrap finely-woven of rattan. The hardwood scabbard likewise intricately carved. The blade unusually robust with fretted spine and chisel-edged, with soft metal inlays at the spine. Retains its belt with antler closure. 19th-20th century. Minor wear and losses, buckle partly lacking. Overall length 70cm. Condition II
