Description
The hilt composed entirely of tusk, intricately carved overall. The guard and grip with fine vinework motifs, the pommel carved as a fully-modeled elephant’s head, the knucklebow a lion attacking its trunk, all with excellent detail. The massive blade wrought of pattern-welded damascus steel, with multiple fullers and radiused tip. 19th century. Well worn, blade with areas of pitting. Overall length 92cm. Condition IV
