A fine example of a very rare helmet which saw use in the first decades of the fifteenth century and constituted the final evolution of the bascinet helmet. Noted in particular for its massive, rounded visor with reinforced and faceted brow, large ocularia and numerous breaths. 19th century. Worn overall. Overall height 38cm. Condition II
