Extremely rarely encountered, issued exclusively when boarding an enemy vessel. Formed of layers of boiled, hardened leather with characteristic stitching to crown and brim, provided good protection from a cutlass stroke or belaying pin. Stamped at the reverse, LG. Originally acquired in Salem, MA.Well worn overall. Overall height 20cm. Condition III
