Description
A very seldom encountered form. The characteristic grip of antler, finely-carved with Dayak motifs and retaining its intricately-woven rattan wrap and hair ornaments. The massive, handwrought blade of complex form, expanding continuously to the tip, deeply profiled and engraved with aso motifs at the ricasso, spine and tip. In its carved wooden scabbard with rattan bindings. Late 19th century. Minor wear. Overall length 69.7cm/ 27.5”. Condition II
