Mughal work, with polished agate grips with garnet and quartz stones set in silver, the tangbands and bolster elaborately inlaid in gold. The broad, single-edged blade of characteristic form, wrought of actively-patterned Persian black wootz. In its velvet-covered wooden scabbard. Latter 18th century. Overall length 31cm/ 12.2 inches. Very light rubbing to mounts. Condition I
