Description
Of leather, with fine engraved, pierced and profiled steel mounts overall, with lugs at the left and read for mounting a sword. Latter 19th century. Minor wear. From the estate of Heinrich Harrer, Austrian mountaineer, geographer, and author. Best known as one of the four men that made the first successful ascent of the North Face of the Eiger in Switzerland, and for his experiences in India and Tibet.
