Larger than average examples, stocked in flame grain hardwood and mounted in silver with elaborately pierced and engraved backstraps and deeply embossed and chased barrel bands. The quality en suite locks and barrels elaborately chiseled in floral motifs. In their individual leather holsters, each with flap embroidered with crescent moons and stars covering cartridge cases, retaining the original leather connecting straps used to suspend them from the saddle bow. C. 1750. Wear to leather. Each pistol overall length 54.5cm/ 21.45”. Condition II
