Buying at Auction

Auctions Imperial offers the very finest arms, armor, and historical artifacts in May and November of each year, and is pleased to assist in making your experience a positive one. Our Buyer’s Premium is a flat 24.9%. This amount will added to the hammer price (the amount of your winning bid.)

There are four basic steps to purchasing at Auctions Imperial:

  1. Bidder registration
  2. Placing a bid
  3. Settling your account
  4. Shipment of won lots

Bidder Registration

Bidder registration is available on our website.

Absentee Bids

You may place absentee bids on our secure server at

or by emailing us at info@auctionsimperial.com and requesting our absentee bid form. The form must be filled out completely, scanned and returned to us via email at info@auctionsimperial.com at least 24 hours prior to the start of the auc­tion in order to be executed on your behalf.

When we execute an absentee bid on your behalf, the lot will always be bought for the lowest increment that exceeds all competing bids and which meets or exceeds the reserve price. In the event of identical bids, the earliest bid received will take precedence. Auctions Imperial requires all non-US bidders to advance a deposit equal to 1/3 of the value of bids placed.

We are unable to execute “Buy” or unlimited bids.

Written and telephone bids are offered as an additional service at no extra charge, and at the buyer’s risk. Auctions Imperial cannot accept liability for failure to place such bids.
Successful absentee bidders will be invoiced following the auction.

Telephone Bids

Please call or email us for a Telephone Bidding Form. Based on the information you provide on the form, an Auctions Imperial representative will contact you from the saleroom prior to your specified lot(s) and will relay your bids to the auctioneer. As the number of telephone lines is limited, it is necessary to make arrangements for this service at least 48 hours before the sale.
Telephone bids are accepted at the sole discretion of Auctions Imperial and at the prospective buyer’s risk. Telephone bidding lines may be recorded for the security of both parties; by bidding on the telephone prospective buyers consent thereto.

Internet Bidding

Auctions Imperial accepts internet bidding via LiveAuctioneers and Invaluable. You must pre-register through these platforms at least 48 hours prior to the auction in order to bid online. A valid credit card is required for online bidding, and winning bids will be charged to this card unless bidder has made other payment arrangements in advance with Auctions Imperial. Please note that these platforms charge an additional ~ 3%, therefore, your invoice will reflect a total of ~27.9% Buyer’s Premium for lots won through them. Bidders registering on any of the foregoing platforms are bound by Auctions Imperial Terms and Conditions, found at www.auctionsimperial.com under the Terms & Conditions tab.

Buyer’s Premium & Tax

Please note that Auctions Imperial Buyer’s Premium and any local taxes will be payable on successful bids. Thus the “hammer price” – the actual winning bid – is not the full amount the purchaser will pay. Contact Auctions Imperial for more in­formation before placing a bid. The buyer will also be responsible for any duties or VAT required upon importation into another country.

Payment

You may pay by credit card, cashier’s check, money order or wire transfer. We accept Visa, MasterCard and American Express (subject to certain restrictions and fees.) You must contact Auctions Imperial in advance to pay by methods other than credit card or bank wire. Wire transfers must be paid in USD only and will incur a wire transfer fee. Prior approval is required if you wish to pay by check– please do not mail a check in settlement of your invoice without contacting us first.

An invoice will be emailed to you following the sale. Your invoice is due and payable upon receipt. There is no grace period. Payments not received within 5 days will incur a storage fee of $20 per lot per day plus a 4% per month interest fee on any outstanding balance.  Your credit card information, including number, expiration date and CVV number, will be required in order to register to bid; if you do not settle your account promptly, your invoice total will automatically be charged to this card unless you have made other arrangements with Auctions Imperial before the auction.

Pre-auction Shipping Estimates

Prospective bidders are welcome to request shipping estimates prior to the sale. Please email AI Packing Co. at AIPAcking99@gmail.com and include the lot number(s) you are interested and your zip or postal code and country.

Shipping Won Lots

Please note the following steps in the shipping process:

-As a winning bidder, you will receive your invoice via email ~3 days after the sale.

-For your convenience, packing and shipping charges to your registered address will already be shown on your invoice (no need to contact us regarding shipping following the sale!) If you need to change your shipping address, please do so by emailing us at: info@auctionsimperial.com when you receive your invoice.

-All invoices are packed in order of payment. Prompt payment assures prompt shipment!

-AI Packing Co. professionally packs and boxes won lots. Once your have paid your invoice in full, your lots will be conveyed to AI Packing (there is no charge for this service.)

-Packing and boxing take approximately 7-10 days from receipt of payment.

-Once packed, AI Packing will deliver your package(s) to the shipper (generally, Fedex or USPS.)

-After your package is tendered to the shipper, it will receive a unique tracking number, which is scanned into the shipper’s system and also copied to AI Packing.

-Your tracking number will be emailed to you by AI Packing Co. after it is received from the shipper.

-Receipt of your tracking number will indicate that your package is on its way! Responsibility for its safety is now in the shipper’s hands.

-All shipments will now be trackable in the shipper’s system by tracking number. Please refer to the shipper’s tracking site in order to check the progress of your package, or if you have concerns, contact shippers directly by email or telephone at WWW.FEDEX.COM or WWW.USPS.COM.

 

Pick ups may be arranged BEFORE THE AUCTION ONLY by contacting us at info@auctionsimperial.com. There are absolutely NO pick ups from our Cheyenne office.

Terms and Conditions

All prospective buyers are reminded that they are bound by Auctions Imperial Terms and Conditions, which may be found on our website, www.auctionsimperial.com, under the Terms & Conditions tab.

Grades of Condition

Auctions Imperial applies the following criteria for grading of condition:

I. Excellent — Fine condition, without apparent repairs or restorations.
II. Very Good — Showing minor age wear, without apparent repairs or restorations.
III. Good — Light to moderate age wear, may have minor defects, with possible repairs or restorations.
IV. Fair — Item with moderate to heavy age wear.
V. As Found — Item with heavy wear, possibly significant defects.
