An above average example, the grip of antler, finely-carved with aso motifs and retaining its intricately-woven brass wrap and hair tassels. The handforged blade faceted at the right spine with expanded tip, retaining much original sharpness. In its carved wooden scabbard with rattan bands and belt with shell toggle. 19th century. Minor wear. Overall length 76.3cm / 30". Condition II
