The one-piece wooden grip carved with chevrons and set with a brass tangband and bosses and fitted over a spike tongue in the Polish manner. The steel guard of characteristic form with rolled quillons terminating in split palmettes borrowed from the Ottoman palette. The leather-covered wooden scabbard with brass mounts. The broad, straight, single-edged and bifullered blade with pronounced back edge and struck at the forte sickle marks and ANDREA FERARA to either side, together with small German marks. 17th century. Minor wear, hilt with slight movement. Overall length 103.1cm/ 40.59?. Condition III
