A rare type, the grip carved of a single large section of finely-figured walrus tusk, the blade of characteristic form, straight, double-edged, and tapering acutely to an armor-piercing tip with chiseled central panel showing fine Persian wootz. The wooden scabbard covered with fine embossed and chased silver in Ottoman baroque motifs, the locket with filigreed silver bands. Latter 18th century.
