Mughal work of superior quality, an extremely rare example wrought of fine iron rings approximately 5mm in diameter, with a contrasting diaper pattern worked in brass, with a small circle at the center of each rhombus in copper, with every ring riveted. With original padded gold silk raised collar and frontlet extending in two broad bands past the waist, bordered with chevron-patterned edging which retains a large gilt braid toggle button. The full-length sleeves expanding toward the cuff and terminating in points, the hem falling halfway to the knees, the reverse vented to facilitate riding. Late 17th- early 18th century. Very minor losses to rings, toggle loop lacking. Overall length from nape to hem 97.3cm/ 38.3?. Condition II STAND NOT INCLUDED
