In old shirasaya with worn sayagaki which appears to read HOKI SABURO KUNIMUNE (possibly Bizen Saburo) together with the nagasa. With brass habaki. The blade with straight temperline and visible turnback with active grain. The two-hole tang with gakumei (inlaid signature) typically found when an earlier blade of high quality has been reduced in length, reading KUNIMUNE NYUDO. In its wooden case with bag. Blade thirteenth century or later. Overall length 26cm / 10.25? nagasa 14.9cm / 5.86? Condition II
